The Fall 2023 Program
The American Academy in Berlin turns 25! Each semester since the fall of 1998, we have organized a robust program of lectures, readings, screenings, and concerts by our resident Berlin Prize Fellows and Distinguished Visitors. This anniversary year is no different, as we feature topics ranging from US defense strategy in an era of increasing competition, China trade-policy, and governing AI, to the contamination of history and the politics of memorials, from West African women’s history to the future of Washington politics with Peter Baker (The New York Times) and Susan Glasser (The New Yorker). Unless otherwise noted, all events are free and open to the public. We look forward to welcoming you at the Hans Arnhold Center and at our partner venues in Berlin this fall.
